On a rainy day, my kid and I were stuck at home with nothing to do. But as a dedicated RC hobbyist, I had a plan to keep us entertained. I remembered the 1:24 RC car that I had bought for him a few months back, and I knew it was the perfect activity to do on a rainy day like today. I had already built an indoor trail course, and my kid was excited to see it. As soon as we started playing with the car, my kid's face lit up with joy. He was in charge of controlling the car while I moved the obstacles around the course. We raced the car around the corners, jumped over ramps, and maneuvered through tight spaces. It was a lot of fun, and we were both giggling with excitement. As we played, I couldn't help but feel grateful for this moment. Spending time with my kid, doing something we both enjoyed, was priceless.

As an RC hobby enthusiast, I find great joy in sharing my passion with my child. It's a great way to bond with my kid, and it also helps him develop an interest in something beyond video games and TV shows. I believe that this hobby has a lot to offer, not just in terms of fun and entertainment, but also in terms of learning and development. Playing RC airplanes with my child allows him to learn about physics, engineering, and problem-solving skills in a hands-on and interactive way. As we fly together, I try to instill in him the importance of patience, discipline, and hard work. These are valuable life skills that will serve him well, regardless of whether he continues with the hobby or not. Overall, I'm grateful for the opportunity to share my love for the RC hobby with my kid, and I hope that he'll continue to enjoy it as much as I do.

I've always been intrigued by flight. As a kid growing up in southern California, my mom would take me to all of the local airshows. I remember the annual trips to the El Toro airshow, Edwards AFB airshow, Van Nuys airshow, Torrance Air Fair, and just being amazed at everything I would see up in the sky and the static displays. One thing I've deeply remembered was going to Toys R Us and seeing an RC F-14 and thinking how amazing it would be if it could fly and wondering if that was even a thing. I'm glad it is! The bug really didnt hit me until I was older and I was a avionics tech at a fighter squadron working on F-18F. One day something clicked and I decided to google RC airplanes and the rest is history. With a reassuring nudge from my wife, I took the dive and purchased my first RC planes, which immediately crashed because I had no clue what I was doing, but the seed to learn more and be better was planted.

Ever since I was a child, I was always fascinated by remote-controlled toys. As I grew older, my fascination turned into a passion for the RC hobby. I would spend hours tinkering with my RC cars, planes, and boats, always looking for ways to improve their performance. Now, as a parent, I'm thrilled to see that my love for RC cars has rubbed off on my kid. We often spend our weekends together in our backyard, racing our RC cars and building new tracks to test our skills. It brings me joy to see my child's face light up with excitement as we play together. Watching my kid fall in love with the same hobby that brought me so much joy is truly special. I can't wait to see where our RC adventures take us in the future, but for now, I'm content just enjoying these precious moments with my little one.
